Women's Liberation Movement
Women had lost their jobs after the Second World war and wanted them back so they started a movement to change employment practices, life choices and politics.
*Became very popular in the 1960's
*Many women had lost jobs they held during WWII and wanted their careers back
*Equal Pay was a big issue that they fought for
*Mainstream and radical feminists
-Mainstream- wanted to change women's rights through using the media, such as making fun of the chauvinist companies that were not equal to women - peaceful
*Radicals
-Radicals - Used aggressive tactics " Man Hating women's libbers" Gave the movement a bad name because they would try to publicly embarrass men
*Laws were passed regarding abortion, homosexuality and divorce making it easier for women to make choices
*Birth control pill also gave them options to when they wanted to start a family.
*Was just the man's choice when to start a family now women have the choice
