Analyzing Urban Functions
- Basic activités are town forming which means its bringing money into a community from outside e.g., a pulp mill
- Non-basic recycles money already there e.g. a grocery store
- The multiplier effect= one job creates others with in the way of service
- Based on a cities industry, it may take on many forms e.g., political and religious cities, organic cities, planned cities, transit cities and automobile cities.
Summary: By analyzing these urban functions we can see how regions grow through other regions as well as how they may stay stationary and not have so much growth through statistics and whether or not money is coming from outside.
