CIDA, ODA and International Aid
- In 1968, the Canadian International Development Agency was formed
- In result of a G8 action plan, Canada funded 500 million dollars with the intention to leave Africa more developed
- Top ten Official Development Assistance; Poland, Former Yugoslavia, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Bangladesh, India, China, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Russia
- Canadian ODA has fallen, now 17th out of 22 countries providing aid
- Canada attempted to bond aid and human rights issues together
These organizations were created to help countries and regions that were not as successful as our own, or the other countries we share aid with.
