*Canadien Constitution recognizes Canada as a Federal State (With Provincial and Federal Governments)
*John A. MacDonald wrote most of the document
*Originally signed in 1867 as the British North American Act (Consitution Act)
*BNA established canada as it's own nation separate from the UK
*1931-Statute of Westminister allowed canada to make its own separate laws from the UK ( Great Britain )
*Statute of Westminister was an act passed in Great Britain to allow equality for the self serving dominions of Great Britain, such as us Canada
*Act was rewritten in 1982, known as the "Canada Act"
*Notwithstanding clause allowed many provinces to back out of certain aspects of the agreement
*It allows Parliament/Provincial Government to override certain things in the Charter
