*Government brought this program in to freeze alberta oil so that canada had oil
*However the workers did not like this because they were making no money
*Led to the Western Alienation
*Feel like they've been singled out by the government (east)
*Decide to create their own political parties of the West, to vote and care for the West
*Raise in New politics that is still current
