CANADARM/ SDI
- Did not contribute to NASA even though apart of SDI "Star Wars"
- Canada was given the opportunity in 1974 to design, build, and develop the Shuttle Remote Manupulator System (SRMS) from NASA
- The Canadarm is a 15meter long robotic arm that has the capacity to lift 30 000kg on earth and 266, 000 in space
- Uses an increibly small amount of energy (less than a toaster)
- Has not had a malfunction since its debut in 1981
- This device gave recognition to Canada's robotic proficiency
The Canadarm is a tool that our nation can and is very proud of. Because of it we gained light upon our skills in the robotics/technology wing as well as NASA's acknowledgement and propositions.
