Era of Protest
The Era of protest was in the 1960's were many people's began protesting about many topics like human rights and international affairs.
*1960's the baby boomers were now teenagers
*Anyone 'over 30' was not trusted ( teen Culture) and traditions were turned
*People that were young were protesting the old
*Counterculture against the establishment
*Protest began in schools and universities (mainly human rights for aboriginals, blacks and women)
*Protests were with teenagers and school kids
*Human rights became huge
*'Sticking it to the man"
*Also protests over nuclear arms, Vietnam war and american interference in Canadian affairs
*Canadians protest about having nuclear submarines underwater plus others, this led to us getting rid of our nuclear weapons in the 1950's
