Terrry Fox,
- At the age of 18 Terry Fox had his right leg amputated due to bone cancer
- Sets the goal to run across Canada in hope of raising money for cancer research, Marathon of Hope
- He ran for a total of 143 days starting at St. Johns NFL finishing in Thunder Bay Ontario when the cancer came back in his lungs, dying less than a year after that
- because of him over 500 million was raised for research
Rick Hansen
- Rick Hansen was paraplegic paralyzed from the waist down at 15 years old due to a car crash
- In 1984 he competed in the Olympics representing Canada in wheelchair marathons
- To raise money and awareness for spinal cord injuries he wheeled around the world in 1985
- is famously known as the Man in Motion, his world tour
- After two years oh wheeling he raised 26 million dollars
Craig Kielburger
- In 1995 kielburger became the spokesperson for children's rights at the age of 12
- Created Free The Children Oganization
- "Children Helping Children" in contributing to those that aren't as privileged as he or others were
- Free the Children Organization being very successful in over 35 countries
- Built a total of 375 primary schools for the underprivileged kids
David Suzuki
- Suzuki was a scientist that commits his values and focus' on the environment
- During WW2 he was an intern
- Became a naturist while in Slocan Valley
- Through books, radio and other multimedias he puts out an awareness for the environment
These four men played an important role is Canada's historic growth. They all took something they were passionate about or something they had a reason to support and brought awareness and light upon that area.
