Declining forests
*Half of the world's forests have already been cleared
*Few natural forests remain
*Tropical rains forests are in greatest danger
*Great amounts of biodiversity exists in these and aborb CO2
*making the CO2 problem worse by cutting them down
*Temperate forests and northern forests = 20% of earth's land cover
*Coastal rain forests = 14% of Canada's forested land, produces 40% of marketable timber
*marketable timber = best timber
*Stewardship = careful management to be sustainable

Summary
Declining forests are a huge problem because not only is it destroying lots of our biodiversity for animals and ecosystems but trees absorb the CO2 that we are putting into the atmosphere and change it back into oxygen for us to use again. Also once you cut down a tree it releases CO2.
