The Conscription Crisis
*With too many men working in factories not enough were signing up for the war.
*P.M.Borden had promised to never have a conscription.
* Military Service Act came in after Vimy Ridge in 1917.
*French canadians were mad because it forced them to fight in a war they didn’t want to have.
*Farmers were upset aswell because they needed their sons to run their farm.
*Women are allowed to vote
*Were given this right because P.M.Borden knew they'd vote for conscription.
*Men over seas fighting were given a vote as well because once again P.M.Borden knew they'd vote for conscription as well.
*Both these parties voted in favour because they thought it'd end the war sooner.
*Borden invited as well the Liberals to join his government to form the Wartime Union Government
*Conscientious opposed voters and recent immigrants from, "enemy countries", were not given the right to vote.
*Borden won the vote for conscription
*Anti-Cnscription riots broke out in Quebec following the passing of the act
*Only 125,000 men were ever actually conscripted
*Only 25,000 were sent to the front
