Summary:
Bootlegging and Prohibition were important in Canada in the 1920's because for the first time it brought a major law to the country as voted on by women. While it did not remain long, it ended up remaining a lot longer in the states then here in Canada. Quebec kept the prohibition the longest. Prohibition was especially hard on the men just returning from overseas, because they were used to the laid back European lifestyle of drinking.
