Population Pyramid
- The population pyramid is an official graph that shows the age and gender structure of the population of a region
- The pyramid is broken into 5 year intervals called cohorts
- Developing countries are growing to had more children than adults therefore expansion
- Stability is to be balanced through out all ages of the population pyramid
- Contracting is the growth rate when below replacement level
- Contracting is leading to Canadas population becoming more elderly
Summary: Population pyramids are a very efficient way of finding out the increase or decrease of a regions population of females versus males, as well as death and birth rates.
